The Thing

Synopsis

Horror-meister John Cerpenter (Halloween, Escape from New York) teams Kurt Russell's outstanding performance with incredible visuals to build this chilling version of the classic The Thing. In the winter of 1982, a twelve-man research team at a remote Antarctic research station discovers an alien buried in the snow for over 100,000 years. Soon unfrozen, the form-changing alien wreaks havoc, creates terror and becomes one of them.

Good horror flick from the 80's. Have seen it before and I like just revisiting horror flicks from years past. This was an excellent movie in its day.

This is a good movie for watching after a long, hard day at the office. There is nothing mentally challenging but it is a good film, with a twist of horror, for relaxation. There are better horror films about, but this one is good for everyone in the family.

Brilliant stuff. Plenty of suspense to keep you interested and great special effects. Must admit I couldn't pick the baddies. Just wish monsters didn't always roar with the same roar!

I saw the original 'The Thing' when I was about 10 years old one Saturday Night on the 'Creature Feature' & it scared the willies out of me. This remake, although similar in the effects department as the Alien Movies still held the suspence of the I recalled from the original & when I first saw the remake. If it were made today it would probably be the basis of an X-Files Movie & run for 3hrs & need a budget to match just to reach the levels of todays movies SFX. That said, the 'walking head' sequence is excellent.

Alien in the Ice. An awesome sci fi thriller. Suspenseful, Frightening and sometimes just down right Spine Tingling. A great story, effects are a bit dated but still scare the hell out of you.

Well made SCI FI thriller set in Antarctica...great special effects for the early eighties.. I would be interested in a sequel .In some ways very similar to the Alien series of movies.
