I only chose this movie because of Depp. I have to admit after the first half hour it seemed so boring and hard to watch that I turned it off....However a few days later on a rainy day I gave it another go and found it wasn't too bad. It is certainly based on an interesting story and period in history. But it should have been fast paced to match the villains life style. Depp was very believable in his role as usual, but I found Christian Bale the best in this movie.

We expected more from this movie but it was fairly boring. Of course it was still great seeing Johnny Depp! Storyline was predictable and never really entertained.

A movie that does not fulfill its lofty expectations. It should have worked - it has an all-star cast - that seems to go through the motions at times - but this film drags its heels somewhat, and is not helped by some slack direction and the over-use of hand-held HD video, which is so wrong for this genre of movie. Dillinger's eventual brutal death at the hands of a less-than-competent FBI - is almost welcome as it spells an end to this rather disappointing movie.

Somehow I found this movie disappointing. As a Johnny Depp fan I expected more but it was boring.
