A well deserved multi Academy award winner. I loved the way the film captured glimpses of India, and the character's lives, through the flashbacks. The storyline was very engaging, and the only negatives were the romantic plot line verging to mush at the end - but still done in a very likeable way.

Film took time to get into and it was too long, but other than the Bollywood characteristics (which I don't enjoy) it had some charm so I persevered till the end.

What was all the hype about? It was strangely disturbing story with some bizarre characters; really not very believable. I tuned out quite early on.
