This movie was very suspenseful and moved at a good pace. I found at times the choices the characters made didn't seem to make all that much sense but for what it was, this was a well made movie with excellent acting all round.
Great acting by the two main players, Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington. Scary to think what could have happened if Gene Hackman had had his way!! This is an action packed movie which is perhaps on a par with the Hunt for Red October.
A detailed and chilling portrayal of perhaps the worst fears of the military: Mutiny onboard a nuclear-armed submarine. Hackman is brilliant as the old-school submarine commander, determined to follow his orders to the letter, no matter what. Opposite him, Washington plays the brash new generation sailor with aplomb. It's clear a great deal of research and naval cooperation went into making this film. If you enjoyed "Hunt for Red October", this is also for you.

Enthralling drama, full of suspense. The plot is fairly predictable. Recommended
