OMG What a let down was so bad i actually turned this one off I did not keep watching to see just how bad it was goning to get. Coz man that would of been awful.

Wonderfully black mockumentary centred around small town USA teen beauty pageant obsession. Top performances from a mostly female cast, and every single one of them managed to keep a straight face while using the weirdest American accent I've ever heard. Well worth the watch.

An interesting style of movie from the perpective of a film crew.
Most characters are either stereotypes or otherwise one-dimensional.
A story about reaching for your dreams through sheer perseverance.
A story about recapturing past glory no matter the cost.
A story about the shackles of an unimaginative small town in our own minds from which we struggle to break free into freedom.

A good off beat comedy that tickles the ribs and provides good light entertainment.

A very silly movie. But it's fun and girly and Kirsten Dunst is in it. Therefore I give this one the big thumbs up. It's as light as a souffle. ©2004 Ben Herron
